Really hating this game. A discussion thread created by someone having difficulty getting started with Rising Thunder.

You may find the support people gave him helpful and practical.

He went on to make another post—Really loving this game—where he said:

"earlier this week, I was getting really frustrated with my performance, and I made a thread called "Really hating this game". I got tons of advice from several people on the kind of mindset I should have, what I should try to do when actually playing, etc. A few days later, and after several matches (both wins and losses), I'm having a blast. I feel like I'm learning with every match, I'm figuring out how to adapt to people, and my character is just so much fun to play (Crow)."

First Attack S4 Ep8: Opening Up Your Opponent James talks about how to open up opponents in fighting games. In Part 2, he uses the lens of learning Rising Thunder to discuss building mixups and opening up opponents. James Chen

SFV FUNDAMENTALS w/ WWE'S XAVIER WOODS! Ep. 1 - The Beta Adventures of Gootecks & Mike Ross A video that goes over the fundamentals of fighting games.

It's about Street Fighter 4, but many of the fundamentals will apply to other fighting games.

To quote what one Rising Thunder player said about it:

"Gootecks explains the key moves at the foundation of strategy: close pressure attacks, far/ranged pressure attacks, sweeps, and throws (and lots and lots of blocking). It uses the example of SF5, but everything thing here still applies. It also teaches you how to learn all your timings from the practice mode, which is extremely important."[3]

Etiquette, Quick Match, and Tournaments A video about etiquette in fighting games.
